I try to see the things in life that are beautiful. Many of these things are overlooked because we are too busy or pre-occupied to see them. Slow down, be silent, look and listen....

Angels
This little angel is the bearer of light. He is adding light to the world, removing darkess. I see a smile on his face. Even though he is small, he bears this torch with all his strength. As Jesus said " Let your light shine before men so that they may see your good works and glorify the Father which is in heaven" :-) Matthew 5:16- such wonderful words!
Angels
This beautiful angel represents a cherubim, which is a guardian spirit. I found this candelabrum at this store last year and thought it would be a wonderful piece to add to my home.
I believe everyone has guardian angels who are watching over them. We are not aware of it but they are ever present. Catching us when we fall, proving us comfort during the hard times. Many people have had encounters which these spirits with out even realizing it at first, but in an afterthought they realize that the help they received must have been supernatural!

Tribute Micheal Jackson
What an amazing life! Micheal is no longer with us. But what an amazing life! He defined what an icon is. He transcended an entire culture. He was music. He lead he did not follow. He has left a powerful legacy.
My heart goes out to his family at this time.
His life was defined by the bizarre behavior but lets face it, he didn't have a normal childhood development. He face many hard moments in his life, law suits, accusations, abuse.
Well at present the world stands stunned, in disbelief, but still there is a joy felt as Micheal left such great music, dance. People are in the streets of LA, and at the Apollo theatre singing his songs in a tribute to him. All I can say is, I love his music, I love the "Moonwalk". We will remember him for the good he did. His legacy will live on for centuries..even when we are gone.
Micheal Jackson...simply amazing...thanks for the great legacy!! The joy that your music has brought and will continue to bring!!

Freedom
Today I was deeply moved by the movie "The Hurricane" starring Denzel Washington about the wrongful imprisonment of Boxer Rubin "Hurricane" Carter. I was holding back the tears. He was freed after 20 years of imprisonment. He made two unsuccessful appeals after his conviction. Then after that he literally gave up "died", even though he was alive..something within him died and he gave up hope. What is life without hope?
Then my mind turned to all the men and women in prison by wrongful conviction. the utter injustice served. Years of freedom cut short by a system that is imperfect.
The salvation for "Hurricane" Carter came when a family became interested in his case, believed in his innocence and believed in him and chose not to give up. He received his freedom after 20 years.
Being a prison however is not determined by a physical cell. Many are prisoners of their own addictions, drugs, gambling, sex addiction. I pray that everyone finds the beauty of freedom. Freedom to live, to love, to be honest and celebrate life. A belief in a higher power, such as our creator God, a God of love can help us to find this freedom. Many people who are locked up behind bars find freedom. Freedom from drugs, from alcohol addiction. Many find peace when they believe in a creator.
I wish that everyone...don't put off the things that are important...love,family, friends, a time to relax, a vacation, a hobby. Free your mind. Every day give thanks to God when you wake up. See the beauty around you..in the flowers, the clouds, the children's,laughter. Do the GOOD thing that you have desired to do today, don't wait on tomorrow :-)

This painting was inspired by a very dear friend of mine
Awesome fruits
In this picture, this is the East Indian mango, also there are some bananas.
Mangoes belong to the genus Mangifera. They have a wonderful color, flavor, fragrance.
Mangoes are classified as "superfruit", they are rich in phytochemicals and nutrients. They are rich in carotenoids,pre-biotic dietary fibre, vitamin C and polyphenols. Mangoes are rich in antioxidant vitamins A, C and E.
In the Caribbean mangoes are used to make mango juice, mango chutney (a sweet condiment), ice-cream, pie, jams etc. etc.
Mangoes are loved by Jamaicans. There is even a folk song called "Mango Time" created for the mango season.
Wow mangoes..yummy. I think i'll have two after blogging today! :-)

Naples Beach and Lime cay
Seriously,a month doesn't go by that I haven't been to the beach. That's me on the left ( this pic was shot by the paparazzi lol lol) I live for the beach. In Jamaica we have mainly white sand beaches. That's Naples beach in Florida (bottom photo). Beautiful beach. We saw 2 pairs of wild dolphins swimming by. It was gorgeous.
That's the beach at Lime Cay in Kingston, Jamaica ( Top photo) favorite chillin spot on sundays

The Beauty of Thinking before one speaks
I have learned the power of "a still tongue keeps a wise head"
Words are powerful
Words can cut deep
Once said they cannot be taken back
They reverberate forever
If we learn to think before we speak
The world would be a better place
As a matter of fact if we kept a still tongue
Never said a word
So often things would be better
We would get a chance and even give another
Person the chance to think and reason
Before making a foolish mistake
Words are powerful
Words can cut deep
Once said they cannot be taken back
They reverberate forever
If we learn to think before we speak
The world would be a better place
As a matter of fact if we kept a still tongue
Never said a word
So often things would be better
We would get a chance and even give another
Person the chance to think and reason
Before making a foolish mistake

Beautiful Vacation- Jamaica
My baby brother- I miss you
They say be strong,
I dont know what that means
My baby brother is no longer with me
And there are no words that can comfort me
I cant hold back the tears
I am still not wanting to believe that you are not here
How can you be gone, eight years younger than me
i tried everything to show you my love
I cry everyday
Anytime of day
I cant hold back the tears
I hope where you are, you are happy now
I would not wish this pain on anyone,
Not even my greatest enemy
Then again I have no enemies
Not even the one who killed him
Because the pain is so deep
I hope that one day I will only bring Joy to the earth
Leighton I love you brother
I will see you again
One day soon
I wish you Peace Joy Comfort and Love where you are now
And I know Jesus is there for you
With love your one and only sister.
The Beauty of Silence
The Beauty of Silence
The world has become such a place
Of noise
Confusion
Turmoil
Unrest
So much information being transmitted
Such a maddening pace
People losing money
Losing homes
Losing lives
Some time we have to stop and wait
Hush....
Be still
Discover the beauty of silence
The beauty of moving away from the rush
Of separating Mind, Soul, Body
To a place of peace and calm
To be silent
To listen to the silence
To think but not speak
I have discovered this beauty, this silence
It comes from within and it restores peace
I pray for silence for a moment
I pray for peace to all..to mankind
